Joe Mullins

A southwestern Ohio native who has been a recognizable banjo player, vocalist, and radio broadcaster for 30 years. He toured and recorded as a founding member of the band The Traditional Grass until 1995, when he purchased WBZI Radio in Xenia, Ohio. Mullins recorded and performed with the band Longview, earning Song of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year awards from the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) in the late 1990’s. He was honored by winning an Instrumental Recording of the Year award in 2001 from the IBMA for his banjo work on Rebel Records’ Knee Deep In Bluegrass. Mullins was also one of many artists in 2006 sharing Album of the Year honors for Celebration of Life, on SkaggsFamily Records.

Duane Sparks

From Richmond, Indiana, where he performed with the All American Bluegrass Band for a few years, becoming a fan favorite on the Renfro Valley shows in Kentucky, and a SPBGMA Award winner throughout the Midwest. Duane had years of experience as a member of Gerald Evans and Paradise. He helped the late Gerald Evans arrange and record several songs that have been hits on Joe's radio programs. "I have been in love with Duane's great vocal abilities for years!" said Joe.

No, he is not related to the great Larry Sparks, but doesn't live too far from him.

Jason Barie

Jason started his musical journey when he was 10 years old by taking classical violin lessons in elementary school. Then to Tom Henderson and, as a teen, filling in with various Florida bands, until graduating high school in 1997, when he hit the road with the Sand Mountain Boys. He spent 4 years touring North America with them until they disbanded in 2000. Then on to work with Carolina Road for four and a half years, two years with Larry Stephenson, and then almost six years with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. He has also been blessed to have performed with Jim and Jesse McReynolds, Bobby Osborne, Paul Williams, and JD Crowe.

Mike Terry

Having performed with local bluegrass bands for over 12 years, Terry is well versed on several instruments. He first met Joe Mullins while working with The Beacons. Terry resides in Kentucky, with his wife, Theresa, and daughters, Kayla and Klara.

Randy Barnes

A native of Richmond, KY, Barnes is an accomplished bass player and has a solid reputation among the bluegrass community having worked as a touring band member for Lou Reid & Carolina, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Larry Stephenson Band and the Josh Williams Band. On becoming a member of the Radio Ramblers, Barnes says, "The highlight of my career is to be able to share my music with like-minded musicians. Of course I value talent and good all-around musicianship, but it's important to share in mutual respect, integrity and professionalism in this business and I've long admired Joe and the Radio Ramblers for all of these qualities. I've been a fan of the band for a long time and I can't wait to hit the road with them and see where the music takes us."
